 Poor substitue for the real thingApr 13, 2011

I was so pleased to have found this adapter for so much less than what Apple was selling them for. I should have known better. A bargain isn't always what it's cracked up to be. The adapter came in a well sealed package and on time. What I immediately noticed was that the weight was significantly less than the Apple adapter and that there was no official lettering or information on the face of the adapter as there is on the Apple one. Next I found that the USB chord would not go all the way in and lastly it charges the phone extremely slow. It takes more than double the time of the original adapter that came with my phone. How disappointing.

Item description says: "brand new," "OEM" and "no green dot," whatever that means. In the detail description it says refurbished. What did I get? I received one that looks like OEM and is labeled as such, but with the green dot. Silly me, I didn't notice the dot. Used it for 6 weeks and then one of the prongs of the AC plug fell out! I'm 65, and in my life have never had a prong of a plug fall out. Wish I could provide a picture, this is made like a fake, hard to believe Apple would design like this. I paid $9.50, now I'm past the return deadline. But now I see the price is down to $3.99. All very fishy, don't buy from these people. Good luck finding genuine merchandise.

I have purchased several (about 9) of adapters like these all of which were defective, one even popped when I plugged it in. I finally just shelled out the $30 and bought one from Apple and have had no problems since. Do not buy this item.

I wish i would have saved which company I bought from cause my fiance opened her stocking on Christmas and the thing did not work. The description said it was compatible with her I phone and my I touch but doesn't charge either. Only reason I am not really mad is I only wasted five bucks on it
