The answer to BlueTooth problems!Aug 13, 2010

I ordered this and got it within 7 days.I love it! I've been having problems using BlueTooth devices- for some reason my phone (Sony Ericsson w518a) loves to drop calls when I'm using a BlueTooth. I've got 2 BlueTooth devices (Motorola H9 and Samsung WEP460) and they both annoy me for various reasons. This device is great! Its a bit retro looking, but it works. I never get out of range-you know because its wired. The sound is great. I use my phone as an MP3 Player, and I can hear the music perfectly, the earbuds are made of a rubbery material which fit comfortably into my ear holes. If you don't like the earbuds, you can use your standard headphones, which I do. I love that it is versatile like that.It has an integrated microphone which picks up everything.I don't know if its SONY's trademark design, but one of the ear peices is longer than the other. Not a big flaw. I love how as you are listening to the music, the music will pause/decrease in volume when a call/text comes in.This device is GREAT for those of you that can't stand BlueTooths. The only problem is reconnecting it as a call comes in. I do hate wires, but I hate BlueTooth even more!
Good dealJun 09, 2011
By Ardus Worked for a good 4 month period and now the connector is loose. Cant blame the product though due to my rough use and the regular sony problem. Am buying another one.

Read all the reviews for this. Note all the problems. This is a great concept gone horribly wrong. I'll break it down: Likes: better than blutooth, you dont have to worry about pairing it, its handy. It doubles as earphones for your music on the Ericson. I'm using an Ericson w518A. You can change out the earpeice if you want. Its actually a microphone connected to removable earbuds. The price was good - less than ten dollars. Dislikes: Only lasted me 2 months! Stopped working after that. The microphone part of it was the first casualty. I must have plugged and unplugged it about a total of 20 times, then it died. The earbuds are also uneven. The cord is VERY flimsy. I don't know why SONY (creators of the Walkman, no less) didn't opt to include standard jacks for their Ericson phones. You can insert this headset DURING a call, but between calls. Otherwise the microphone wont work. Not very PlugNPlay. The microphone is super sensative. My friends on the other line kept asking if I was skiing while talking on the phone. About every one of my calls started AND ended with " Can you hear me now?"...multiple times!
What Sony should do is redesign their Ericson phone. There are times (97% of the time) that its just not handy to leave your earbud/microphone plugged in ALL the time. This product will wear out after about 20 times of insertion/unplugging. This would have been better if the cord was coiled and didn't wrap around everything like Indianna Jones' whip! I am counting down the days when I can renew my phone contract and get a good phone like the Motorola Razr, for which I wouldn't need to buy proprietary junk like this!
Had what I wanted... Buy with Caution!Dec 18, 2010
By Joe Vizcarra [EDIT 1/13/11] After a month of use, it's safe to assume that life expectancy for this headset is around 1 and a half to 2 months based on other reviews. Mine just lasted a month - or at least I ended up with left-sided audio only. It performed very well but it isn't built to last. Excess of wires got annoying so I ended up buying a Sony Ericsson Stereo Bluetooth Headset hoping I'll get the same awesome audio experience.
------------------------
I mainly bought this accessory to have a 3.5mm headphone jack for my phone and possibly make my w518a phone my primary music device. And... so it is.
Things to point out: + The sound quality you get out of the 3.5mm jack is fantastic. With this accessory, I would be more than happy to make my w518a phone my primary music device. Call quality is also fantastic! + You could use any pair of headphones with this accessory, so long as it fits in the 3.5mm jack. Though if you do, you're gonna end up with an excess of cable. + This makes a great alternative to a Bluetooth headset. Though using it for calls is not as comfy as a Bluetooth headset, it gets the job done. - The earbuds included with the headset may disappoint sound-wise. If you're hoping to get some boom out of these earbuds, then you won't be very satisfied. (My earbuds turned out to be defective, only having one-sided audio) You may want to consider using a good pair of headphones instead. - The right-hand side of the included earbuds is shorter than the left so be aware of that. Well... the whole set of earbuds is very short because the company doesn't want you with an excess of cable.
Bottom line, much can be done with this headset whether or not you have the luxury of listening to music on your phone or have a bluetooth headset. I had fun experimenting with this and am very satisfied with this product.

This "stereo headset" is actually two items. A plug that converts the multi-purpose jack on the Sony Ericsson phone to a phono jack, and an earbud headset. The converter has a built-in microphone, and a switch that allows you to answer incoming calls. I will use this with the headphones I already own, as the quality of sound coming from the earbuds is not as good.
