 Works but dies in less than a year and has bad mic qualityOct 20, 2011

I bought this item and it died about half a year after. For ~$12, this was quite disappointing, since my original set from my Sony X10i lasted 1.5 years. Here's a general summary of my opinion
Pros:
-it works
-awesome adapter to use with your choice of headphones (awesome for audiophiles)
Cons:
-died in less than a year
-microphone makes a very high-pitched sound on listening end. I basically had to remove this half the time I make/receive calls, rendering it rather useless
-cable is too long. I don't blame the vendor for this one but rather sony's designers - headphones are generally about 2 - 3 ft long and this adapter's cable is ~1.5ft long. Add the two together and you'll feel like a princess with a long wire draping after you.
-weak alligator clip. I tried loop-coiling the wires, since they were excessively long, but the clips wouldn't hold the weight of the loop of wires AND my everyday movement.
Comments:
Once in a while, they make a high-pitched sound on the receiving end, but it's completely random, making the adapter useless half of the time. I also dislike the fact that it lasted for such a short time because my original set lasted much longer while enduring a more destructive life (I made sure to maintain these well after my old cable died) because $12 for a cable was quite expensive.
In the end, I bought the Sony MW600 bluetooth headset instead Sony Ericsson Hi-Fi Bluetooth Stereo Headset with FM Radio ), since it solved all of the problems, and the sound quality is amazing for a bluetooth device.
I think I may have had a defective unit, but return shipping and the hassel for $12 was expensive and not worth it. If it was sold from amazon, I would've exchanged it back asap. If you were to purchase this, I hope you don't get a defective unit like I did. For a safer and better (but more expensive option, go with the Sony MW600) if your phone has bluetooth.
I only took one star off because I'm guessing I was unlucky and got a bad unit. Otherwise, I'd say it's fairly decent as an adapter but could be better.

really its great headphone and have a pure sound .. only not good thing its not fit very well in my ear .. otherwise its have a very good sound .. i like it.
