 Phone charges but acts crazy while chargingNov 19, 2009

I bought 2 of these chargers for my new Motorola Droid because the supplied OEM charger had a very short cord. I wanted one for travel and one for the night stand. I plugged the phone in and left it. About a 1/2 hour later I returned to check some emails. The phone touch screen was uncontrollable and actually pushing buttons by itself. ( I almost bought some Chinese language translator app on accident before I unplugged the phone ).I thought it might be a glitch so I tried the other charger with the same results. I have ordered 2 OEM Motorola chargers and I hope that will do the trick. Although it did charge my phone, I do not recommend this charger at all as far as operating the Droid is concerned.

Phone is unusable while charging. This is very disconcerting and could be causing damage to the phone. According to the product packaging, this is not a DROID charger but a charger for other motorola devices (such as the ROKR).

Initially, I encountered the erratic issues that other people mentioned, and just dealt with it (not using the phone while connected, etc...), until tonight, when the phone at 4AM decided to start randomly calling my friends and family (over 20 calls before someone called my house to find out what's wrong). DO NOT BUY THIS CHARGER if you have a Motorola DROID.

As others have mentioned, having your Droid plugged into this makes the screen go completely wonky. You can't use your phone at all while plugged in with this charger. I suppose it does the job of charging the phone, but if it has that effect on the screen, who knows what else it's doing to my Droid's innards. Hope I didn't ruin my Droid at all experimenting with this! Will be returning this one.
As a workaround, just use a standard mini-USB cable and this adapter.OEM Motorola MicroUSB USB EMU MU Adapter for RAZR2 V8 V9 V9m Q9h model SKN6252. I have one and it works great, but will continue hunting for another wall charger (without spending $30 for the one at the Verizon store).

All the below negative comments are correct. THIS CHARGER WILL DAMAGE YOU PHONE IF IT IS USED FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. Not to mention it does not charge the phone. The flickering on desktop items on the phone while charging that the previous post mentioned are due to irregular voltages being sent to the wrong pins. I contacted the seller via Amazon and they never responded. I guess the old saying "Yopu get what you pay for" is absolutely true with this seller......
