Ordered this about a month ago when the internal speakers on my laptop stopped working. Really wanted something small (and pink to match my laptop). So far it has been great. Plenty loud and clear. Very small, so travels easily with the laptop. Agree with other reviews for the other colors that the cords are very short. But it hasn't been a problem for me. Internal, rechargeable battery means I can take it w/ my MP3 player and have music anywhere for a few hours. As long as it keeps working like it has been, I am totally happy with this purchase.

I love the color. I already owned the black speakers and everyone complimented me on big sound. Saw the pink and had to purchase. Pink is my favorite color.

My granddaughter chose this off Amazon to use with her iPod touch. It is a small ball until you twist it and it pops open. Fits easily in the hand of a 6 year old and has rechargeable battery. The volume it can achieve though is not as great as the GOGroove Panda, which her sister chose and takes 3 AAA batteries. She is very happy with it however, after all - it's pink!

I ordered a pink one for my daughter for a gift and got a FAKE X-Mini copy. The dealer was BAFBA LLC. I decided to order a real one from Best Buy just to be sure I don't get another fake. There probably are real ones (not copies) here on Amazon but I don't know what to choose to be certain. I gave it 2 stars because even though it's not an original X-Mini like it's advertised to be it's still a cool speaker. It'll be interesting to have both and see the difference in sound. My new one will be here in 3 days.
EDIT: Got the new one in! The pink is far darker than the fake one, almost red, and the color is complete, meaning the white lines you see in the seams on the fake one aren't there in the real model. It's also quite a bit taller when opened than the one I got from here. The bass is deeper and the sound when closed is nicer for using while watching certain videos or listening to podcasts or audio books. Use it open for music and videos with a lot of music and special effects and closed when listening to spoken word. The new one doesn't have a huge difference in sound, but having both side-by-side you can tell the real X-Mini sounds more dynamic and looks better built.
If you also got a counterfeit X-Mini from here and decide to get a new one don't despair. Hooking them both together makes a huge difference! Having 2 is ridiculously better than one. My daughter would have often crank-up the volume when she had 1 but with 2 it's just insane! Much much more volume even on half. On a laptop, as PC speakers 1 is kinda meh (at least when she had just the fake speaker) but with 2 it's entirely different.
My opinion, don't get the one here. Find a reputable dealer (I ordered it from Best Buy and it was free shipping also).

The X-Mini II speakers are great for travel. While it may not sound like your home system, they work perfectly in a hotel room, campsite or at the beach. Highly recommend.
